What Is A Geographic Tongue?
You must have seen or gone through an inflammatory but harmless affected tongue surface condition, it is known as geographic tongue. It is a tiny pinkish-white layer of bumps (papillae), which are a hair-like sign. If the tongue surface is missing papillae and you notice smooth Red Island patches on the tongue with a slightly raised border it is an alarming sign your tongue has become a geographic tongue. 

What Causes Geographic Tongue?
Below are the symptoms of geographic tongue
Irregular shaped red patches on the side or top of the tongue.
Very often changes in the size, location, and shape of lesions.
You may feel a burning sensation, pain, and discomfort while eating acidic or spicy food.

If you feel discomfort or strong pains for more than 10 days, consult your doctor. The doctor might prescribe:
- Mouth riser with anesthetics
- Anti-inflammatories 
- Pain killers
- Tabaco break
